First Week Enrollment Shows District Approaching 5,200 Students
The end of the first week of school showed a student enrollment of nearly 5,200 students in Terrell ISD. As of Thursday afternoon, August 15, the district’s enrollment had reached 5,188 students and numbers are expected to continue increasing in the coming weeks. Just three years ago, the district’s first week enrollment was 4,763.
The district has continued to work with Zonda demographics, the district's demographer, to plan for the future and recently received its first quarter demographics report for 2024. The report showed that Terrell ISD is projected to surpass 6,000 students by 2028 and will surpass 7,000 students by 2032. In ten years, the district’s total projected enrollment is 7,558 - an increase of more than 2,000 students as compared to today’s numbers.
“We continue to see our enrollment grow each year and we are excited to welcome our newest Tigers to the Terrell ISD family,” stated Georgeanne Warnock, Terrell ISD Superintendent of Schools. “Our continued growth will require us to think differently when it comes to facility needs and assessments as we must have a seat for every child that walks through our doors.”
“We live in an incredible community,” said Warnock. “It’s no surprise that our enrollment continues to grow. Terrell is a great place to be.”
